Addictions can take months, even years to develop. It is not uncommon for a child of 40 years, who has handed in alcohol responsibly for 15 years, to develop an addiction. The road to addiction is different for each individual and each individual will have a different path to recovery.
Naturally, any person in drug treatment, drug treatment, alcohol addiction treatment or want to know how long it takes the recovery process. It seems as if your life is on hold until the addiction treatment has been completed, and that may be true. Some people are waiting to return to work or return to their families. Others simply want more freedom than is generally granted in treatment facilities, no matter how luxurious it is.
While some people are limited in the amount of time they are permitted to spend on drug treatment for their insurance or personal finances, there are others who have the ability to spend as much time as they need treatment. Even people who want to know how long till you start feeling better.
There is no pat answer for how long drug alcohol treatment will take. As frustrating as this is for both addicts and their loved ones, everyone has different reasons for their addiction, and require addiction treatment for different periods of time variables.
Most experts recommend at least three months of drug treatment, preferably in hospital, for most addicts. The longer the treatment, the better chance of lasting results. The deadline is certain is that requires more than a few days to recover from addiction to alcohol or drugs.
Any addict must be careful of a program for addiction treatment that promises quick results. No one can guarantee quick results without knowing anything about fighting a person, an announcement that became addicted to drugs or alcohol in the first place. Any member of the family should also be suspicious of a loved one that claims for recovery from addiction in a week or two. Addiction treatment is a long-term process and involves hard work. No wonder so many people are eager to know exactly how long the process will take.
